Been awhile. Lets see where I left off. I was getting out of the military, the boat had issues, and i was stuck repairing it. Well I did fix the boat, and a hefty fix it was, I replaced the entire cooling system for the engine and departed the boat to go home and start a job as an electrican. Something I had been dreaming of doing since I was in the military. To have a job, a few hobbies, and to live my life. Well truth be told I was landed with a rock and a hard place. A job I was starting to realize was not as good as I had thought it was, and took up too much time, and a boat that was hundreds of miles away. I had to make a choice. Well the boat was older, the insurance was getting expensive and it was discovered the previous owner had done a lot of quick repairs not good repairs, so I sold that boat, but simply selling it is not worth a blog post. I took a few days off work to go back up and get it sold, first person showed up, looked at it and left. Did not even step onboard, simply said "not worth my time" anger in my belly I waited on the next person. And waited. And waited, 2 hours past the appointed time I had lunch and carried on my day. The next day I showed it to an older lady. She fell in love right away. Her "best friend" showed up and he seemed to be the one who knew quite a bit about boats, we ran through every feature of the boat, which for a 27 foot boat is not a lot. Hoisted the sails and turned on the engine. We did everything but leave the pier. A long talk about it happened afterwards, and the next day I left for home. In 2 days she paid me 4k for the boat and I said "Have fun with it captain I'll send over the bill of sale can you sign it?" Well all the legal scholars have already cringed, as I will learn. I called the marina and gave the info on the lady and said she had paid and as far as I was concerned it was her boat. a week past and the marina calls me asking if I told her to come in an register the boat. Well yes I did. We franticly try to contact the lady to no avail. almost a month later she contacts us asking for some paperwork to which I said "I have already sent over everything, we did so when you paid the 4k for it." where my legal scholars are now yelling at the screen at how dumb I am. Don't worry I will learn my lesson. One day. The marina is sending letters and calling her, I am texting and calling trying to get this boat out of my name. Please just let me work in peace! Well almost 60 days later she signs the bill of sale in the marina's office and the marina sends us a copy. Well 3 copies, and I sighed a sigh of relief. Who pays 4k for something then refuses to do the paperwork. Well that's it, close the blog we are not going anywhere right? Well as you can tell with more words under this, and the fact I am keeping it as Captains Log means no there is more. Well I was enjoying life on land for a little bit longer getting that itch to go back to sea, the plan was a small sailboat, something like a sunfish or the likes. Maybe I'll build a small 10-15 foot sailboat and sail the local rivers around us. Who knows. Well as part of the enjoying land we bought a little greenhouse from a gentleman and being a nice and nosy person I asked "Why are you selling it? You have not owned it for a year." Well this gentleman had just bought a sailboat and was planning on fixing her up to shipshape and sailing the world with her. How odd, I have experience fixing boats. Need help? Well they said yes. I went over the next week to look at their "wreck of a boat" and they were beaming when I said "She is not bad, needs work but not bad." My standards on boats are low, but they work well. Simply needs an electric bulge pump and the engine needs some love and she'll be fine. Well my one mistake from my wallets point of view is I brought my wife with me. She fell in love with the boat projects they have planned, and the planning to turn someone else's boat into their home. Before we get home she is already looking up the next boat for us to sail and repair. A 40 foot sailboat up in North Carolina is one we are planning on visiting in the coming weeks, and now that I am adjusting to life outside the military I have much more free time, and am slowly learning how to make money. So could my downgrade be an upgrade? Follow us for more info and to see if we really do buy this boat! Skipper Phish log 2

There is a lot to get to here. First and foremost Hello, I am Theodore Pollock or Captain Pollock, or simply Captain Phish. Second why Phish, well back in my time during the navy people quickly took to calling me fish, feesh, or phish. Well my name starts with a P, so I went with Phish. Became a running joke because if you wanted something fixed, and did not have the parts I could scam someone into giving me the parts, or could figure something out. Third and most important on this post the boat. Oh the boat. Guess I should start at the start. Seems right. I got back from Europe to the Sailboat. Idea was I would do separations from the military while Mrs. Phish was back home getting everything ready for me. So I cleaned the boat. Got groceries, dirtied the boat and slept on it. When time came to leave I started the engine and promptly saw white smoke out the exhaust and it sounded off. I turned off the engine when I looked at the gauge and saw it read 240 F. Much higher then I wanted it to ever get to. Looked around, figured it was the water pump, and called a mechanic. Why call a guy when I knew what was wrong? Well I am not much of a mechanic myself, and could learn a thing or two, and a second pair of eyes is never a bad idea. He agreed and ordered the part. I took the train down to Mrs. Phish and waited for results. We installed it a few weeks later and he even ordered me a second one! I had something to do so I left and a few days later turned it on, which I know, everyone who has ever trouble shot as much as I have knows. You always test after you fix. Well the engine worked well. I loaded up my cat and pushed off to get to the pump out dock, and make my way down the ICW to my grandparents place for thanksgiving. Well that's not how it worked. Around 100 feet past the slip grey smoke billowed out of the cabin. With it being faster to make it to the pump out dock then turn around and go back I continued. A small crowed grabbed my lines and tied me off. A quick check and I found something worrying. My engine was not on fire. If you have never worked on a piece of equipment that catches fire, I envy you, to those who have worked on a piece of equipment that catches fire you know, this means it is hidden or something new. I hate hidden fires, if they are not put out quick it can quickly ruin a day. So I searched and searched and found my sea water strainer had fallen off. This was the first part into the cooling system. So engine was not getting cooled, this could be what caused the smoke. I called up the mechanic again, and we quickly found the exhaust pipe was broken in half. So the smoke was exhaust not smoke. IF it was just exhaust that's mostly ok, I leave the hatch open, I sail down the way, wait an hour or so after I drop anchor and close the hatch to warm up the cabin. Easy work. Well the exhaust pipe is water cooled, so by the time I made it back to my slip the small boat had 3 inches of water inside. Bulge pump working, it was cleared out in a jiffy, but still not something I wanted to sail down the ICW with. So my dad drove me to my grandparents place for thanksgiving, and I had a wonderful time. Parts on order because... there is always something broken I have resolved that the sail boat will be dry docked and engine removed for something newer. Until that day comes, sit down, grab some snacks and water and enjoy the stories I will have to tell ya over the next few years of this blog. Skipper Phish Captains log 1

  • A little about the Phishes.

Hello this is the first time I've ever done something like this so youll have to bare with me as I figure this out. My name is Allison and my husbands name is Theodore. We met September of 2023 on a silly little app called discord. He was a mod for a YouTuber I liked, yes I know make your jokes now. He caught my attention very quickly and its been a wild ride since then. We started dating October 26th 2023. Our first selfie together ❤️ We were long distance, about 6 and a half hours from each other. My husband has been serving in the Navy for 6 years come December and is getting out then. So his job didnt have a lot of free time so I went to him for a week while we were still in our talking phase. I went up for Halloween week. I got there and after that week I knew he was someone special to me. He did so much for me in one week than most people have done for me in years. Leaving him that week was torture and knowing that the next time I'd see him was Christmas time hurt. Flowers he got me to make the distance feel smaller. Christmas came around and it was the best I've had in a very long time.... thats a story for another day. He was perfect for me. Caring and understanding. Loving but pushed me to be better. Made me laugh till I almost peed myself. I knew on Christmas day that Theo was my person. I was scared of how fast I realized it. My heart was so guarded and I wanted to be safe but my brain knew. He was like the sun and lit my life up brightly. January came around and I decided half way through it I couldnt be apart from him again and visited again. I surprised him and he was happy to see me again. We both got covid while I was there and the whole time he was taking care of me cause I got it worse than he did. I saw him doing all these things and said to myself. I couldn't do it I cant go back home where it was lonely and dark. So I stayed. Many months of adventures went by and on February of 2025. He proposed. Black diamond engagement ring ❤️ I said yes obviously. Haha! Of course I'd wanna spend forever with my soul mate. In late May we were married by court. And would have a ceremony with everyone in 2027. Late June he had to deploy. Its now October 10th and we will see each other again tonight. But thats our story for now that im willing to share haha. These first few blogs will be stories of us and Theos first trip on the sailboat coming home to see me so I cant wait to share those! Till then. Keep sailing on! ⛵️❤️
